Arranging

PDFPrintE-mail

Chris Robinson has included many of his wind band, brass band and orchestra arrangements in the JULIAN MUSIC Catalogue. As with his compositions, they have been produced for a great many different occasions over three or four decades. Most of his early work reflects his 25 years working in British Army bands as a player, conductor, bandmaster, composer and arranger. He has recorded a number of his compositions and arrangements with his own band and they have been performed in many concerts around the world.

All the arrangements published by JULIAN MUSIC have been written to specific briefs and for specific occasions. These works have not been done with any pre-programmed system - either by using the Sibelius® software 'arrange' technology, or any other type - but by the craft of re-orchestration and the re-voicing of texture, timbre, tessitura and the keys and tonalities most suitable for the best results.

Many have had extra lines of counter-melody, chord substitutions and/or varied bass lines added. Some of the shorter small ensemble pieces have been arranged for many different combinations of chamber groups such as, flute quartets, wind groups, trombones, bassoons or horn quartets, string groups, chamber orchestras, mixed winds, brass groups and saxophone trios and quartets.

You will find it all here - and we will even re-arrange something already done for one group and make it perfectly suitable for any other combination you choose.
